Apposition

Improper, you could say, how we use
words to awe each other. But there, hanging

above you on the bed, a halved verb, wrongside
out, full and waist-ful. Your bedroom

is a place to house large things: Shame & Hope
& Furniture. There’s no wrong in wanting to be

useful again, but you’ve souped yourself into a sweet
broth that no one can chew. One day you’ll understand

why it hurts to be here & there & then.
